Can you build a handheld laser weapons REAL?
I think a laser weapon that fires a rifle companies burst of 1 ms later after 15 seconds is the load capacitor. The beam should be as specific as possible and I think it would be possible to use a distance sensor to adjust the lens as a function of distance, it must penetrate at least 6 inches into a victim that is at all effective as a weapon. According my observations it seems that the minimum amount of energy required would be at least 400 watts, I'm not sure if you can overdrive a small laser for a short period of time without a break and I'm not certain the size of the capacitor / battery should be? Your problem is to obtain a source that will provide enough energy quickly. You will see from the ref that although batteria Li-ion batteries are OK for real power, you must something like a fuel cell, plus a supercapacitor to store a charge.
