How many of you think George S. Patton was right when he wanted to go to war with The Soviet Union after WWII?

At that time, we had the A-bomb and they didn't. We had the army in Europe already and they were still hurting from the Nazi invasion. We could have saved a lot of the Cold War expenditures and the problems we face with Russia now.

That's a tough call. The Russians would probably resent the West even more than they do now though. I don't think they would have been occupied like West Germany and Japan were and turned into industrial democracies because there wouldn't have been the money for it.
