What does it take when buying a used gun?
Firstly I am very familiar with rifles and shotguns, but not handguns or pistols. My husband wants to be a signal or a glock 40 or 45 for Christmas. I saw a beautiful springfield 1911 to 500 in a pawn shop. I say well, but I really do not know what to look for some flaws in a gun. Can you give me some advice. In fact everything he said he wanted Christmas was a pistol, his brother suggested the glock and GIS
If you intend to buy a Glock or Sig for your husband and you can afford $ 500 then I recommend you buy a new one. I also recommend going to a store to buy firearms in Your Gun firearms. Pawn brokers are not necessarily familiar with guns and it is possible that a used gun that you buy it may malfunction during firing. Item = 150893062 As far as pointers go: 1. Buy new if you can. 2. If you insist on buying a gun used to buy someone you trust. (A famous armory should have already inspected a gun used prior to the purchase and sale) 3. The inspection of a weapon used is usually left to specialists and this is why I never recommend it to new gun buyers. You must be able to A) assess the overall condition of the firearm, B) Inspect the barrel of bumps, straightness, rust, pitting, and the condition of the crown, C) You must be able to check the status of the screws, springs, grips, D). See that all controls work smoothly and with a reasonable amount of pressure. Security should prevent the gun shooting (check with the safety and pulling the trigger normally). Locking the slide should keep the blade open. The magazine release should release the magazine easily and still keep it firmly in place until it is pushed. If there is a secure grip of the gun should not fire unless the safety lever completely down. If there is a magazine safety of the gun should not fire unless magazine is in place. In addition, press the trigger should not fire the cannon when the drawer is kept slightly on the battery. E) You must also check state magazine for excessive wear or the feed lips were not bent or changed. (I read a response The other day some armchair experts who advise anyone to bend the feed lips in their magazine so they can take a smaller size than expected) I hope you do not buy this gun idiots. I'm not saying that all used weapons are bad. I bought weapons used and have saved some money but I also had to deal with weapons for over 30 years. The bottom line is just be strong (Your brother made an excellent suggestion with Glock and transmissions, manufacturers very reliable with years of firearms experienced. As you can get a new one in the same price as 1911 used to get the new one) Oh I almost forgot .....
