What are some good paintball guns?

I just got it handed to my first day of playing paintball, and now its time for a little revenge. I'm looking for long range accuracy, general accuracy, and high firing rates. I want to try to keep from spending more than $400 to $500 for most of my equipment.

In your price range and considering you're new to the sport, the best option for you is:

The Invert Mini

It's not a terribly expensive marker (used to list at $450 U.S., now sells for about $325) but it is very high-end and it is durable and reliable, with no need for too many upgrades. It's a very small and light design, very gas-efficient, and I have several friends who love them. It's accurate, fast-firing (20-25+bps with its anti-chop "eyes") and easy to maintain. With an upgraded board, you can rip 25-30 bps no problem.

It's ready to go out of the box, and has a nice barrel, which you could upgrade if you wanted, but it's darn accurate as is. It's not hard to maintain, and it's small, light, and rather cool looking compared to other markers.
